I've been ignoring this blog... oh well... we're going to fast forward from my past post to backtrack until we get to where we are right now... bear with me.
Circa September 2009...
In a very serendipitous detour after softball practice, Jonathan decided to drive by one of our favorite neighborhoods here in Gainesville. That's when he came across a house for sale...
And as if we didn't have enough things going on (like planning our very detailed oriented wedding and gearing up for our dream honeymoon), Jonathan and I decide to give it our all and put an offer on this house. GASP.
It was right across the street from a house that we really liked 2 years ago when we were actively looking for a house. We go through the downward spiral of the house buying process... starting with the pleasant visits and daydreams of us moving in and living in it, to the more troublesome financing and later the nerve-wracking and helpless waiting game.
But alas... on October 29th, three days before we have to move out of our already-subleased apartment but three days AFTER we were originally scheduled to close... our dream comes true.
We are home owners!

Sometimes it's the little things...
This made my day! I've been on a re-organizing my kitchen kick recently and this was pretty impressive, but not too surprising. All of my plastic food containers have LIDS. Matching lids! Not the ones you cram on top and are just a little too snug.
Boo-yah!
In wedding news, I've use my "Bride" card (which has been pretty dormant because I've been super lax and pretty open-minded about things happening with the wedding, so I've definitely saved up a lot of credits) and chose shoes for my BMs to wear. I'm a big shoe person and I recently saw a wedding pic where a bride obviously let her BMs pick their own shoes to disastrous results. That terrified me. I can't have ugly shoes.
So onward, I searched for the ideal shoe... here was my criteria.
1. Must be black and simple enonugh (the pragmatic part of me still wants them to be able to use them again)
2. Must have some element of femininity (I love girly things... bows, cute cut-outs, flowers)
3. No platform shoes (ew!)
3. D'orsay/peep toe type shoe
4. Affordable
5. MOST IMPORTANTLY, must be available in everyone's sizes (this was the hardest part... I came across some real cute shoes but they didn't have them in all sizes)
So, I found it... the shoes are the Pierre Dumas -Godiva in Black.
I can't find a decent picture online that I can post.

Mambo Number Five months to go...
What better way to get into the wedding mood than going to a wedding! Jennifer and Jason got married this weekend in Tampa. We attended the lovely affair, which was held at the Davis Island Garden Club.
The following day, J, Ryan and I watched the Rays' beat the Nationals (SWEEP!) With the intensity of the heat, I was definitely glad that the stadium is covered.
I got a new camera on Friday. It's super cute and simple and it satiates my obsession with the color aqua. I'm giving myself a little task... of providing at least one picture every time I post.
